Landelijk mooi

Vandaag vertrokken richting Hongarije. Net over de grens ontdekken we hoe landelijk mooi dit deel van het land nog is. Op weg naar Kisbajom wordt het steeds rustiger. Eikenbossen afgewisseld met akkers. Tuinen afgezet met staken als heggen zoals ik die eerder in Polen zag. Bij het binnenkomen en verlaten van de dorpen steeds een ooievaarsnest op een elektriciteitsmast. Wat een rust en hoe weinig verkeer! De mensen donker van uiterlijk met Indiase trekken.

Om vijf uur zijn we bij Aaike en Haini. Hun huis is een meerjarenproject. Het voorlopige woongedeelte en het gastendeel zijn provisorisch opgeleverd op de begane grond. ’s Avonds met Aaike naar het einde van hun land gelopen en met een paar teken teruggekeerd.

snow adventure

It was a great and beautiful holiday. From the day after Christmas until today we enjoyed the whiteness of the snow and the hospitality of the Hungarians.

It started all with a setback; I hit the car to a crash barrier on the side of the road. The road was completely covered with 5cm of snow and something went wrong in a curve… But all was repaired rather cheap and fast.

Govert and Pia came as well and Karen and Ama (sister of Pia and her daughter) came along. We didn’t do much working on the house, we just relaxed, made a snowman, swept some snow from the driveway, relaxed some more, etc, etc… You know, it can almost be a substitute for a skiing holiday.

Vandaag is Hajni weer voor 4 dagen naar Hongarije vertrokken… Ze gaat niet naar Kisbajom, maar naar familie in Karcag die morgen een huwelijk vieren. Eigenlijk ben ik wel jaloers, want ik mis Hongarije behoorlijk. Dat krijg je van zo’n leuke vriendin en zo’n leuk huis!

Today Hajni went again to Hungary. Not to visit the house, but to visit a wedding in Karcag. I am sorry I cannot come. I miss Hungary very much. That is the only problem with sucha nice girlfriend and sucha nice house...

Anita and Jimena

Now, after all those years, it is possible for us to be hosts in Hungary. Especially for Hajni it is wonderful to invite people in a place of our own. The first to enjoy this were Hajni’s sister Anita and her daughter Jimena. They live in Spain, but spend every summer some weeks in Hungary.
They had a lot of fun! Jimena really enjoyed the bath we bought for the terrace. And in the mean time, they helped us by finishing some things in and around the house.
